What to do when your self-confidence declines.

When your self-confidence declines, you become afraid to meet life challenges and lack the desire to interact with others. You feel knocked out and defeated. You lose the enthusiasm and excitement to take action. This could have resulted from experiencing repeated failures, encountering numerous challenges or missing opportunities.

Here are steps to take to overcome the discouragement.

Wake up.

What's the point of brooding over the past injuries, failures and mistakes? There's always a solution or another way to do things. Force yourself to get back on track. Wake up and get out of your daze, start over and bounce back.

Recall your purpose and vision.

You've got to remember your purpose or dreams. Don't get caught up with temporary defeats. Keep you vision in front of you. Let your dreams spur you to keep moving.

Self-examination.

Look out for and identify your physical, mental and spiritual strengths. Find what is right for you, something that you enjoy doing and are good at. Examine how you have been perceiving and doing things. Check out on how you deal with and treat people. Find new meanings and understandings through meditation and contemplation.

Adopt the right attitude.

In order to overcome frustrations, you need to have the right and strong mental attitude. You have to fight the temptation to succumb to defeat. Open up your mind to welcome new insights, ideas and awareness. You must dwell on the positive, remember the good, learn from the pains and set a determination to start over.

Take one day at a time.

Start the momentum by picking one new thing that you can do and do your best. Have the courage to do something because anything is worth a try. Don't think of tomorrow, just deal with today the best and all that you can. One action will lead to another and as you keep at it, you will instill new hope for the future.

Spur your imagination.

Your imaginations will determine what you will achieve in the future. Create an entirely new mental picture. Change your story and your mental movies. You have control over what you want to see, hear and feel inside.

Ask for help.

Move away from feeling lost and having no one or no way to turn to. There is always someone out there who would listen and offer help if you ask or seek for answers.

Don't wait.

Don't wait for someone to come to your aid. Don't hesitate to offer help and do more for others. Don't wait for the right time to start fresh because anytime is the right time. Give what you have, even if it is only a smile or a loving thought. Remind yourself that what you give you will get back.
